Batavierenrace

This year the Aquifer swimmers, together with the Aquamania swimmers from Leiden, took the challenge to compete as the team ‘Aquimaniacs’ against around 400 other teams. The Batavierenrace is the biggest students relay race in number of participants and is mentioned in the Guinnes Book of Records (Fun fact!) Therefore, the whole team is feeling proud and honored for having been part of this event. But what is it actually about….?

Each team is racing in relay a distance of 175 km from Nijmegen to Enschede, from Friday night till Saturday evening. The batavierenrace is about getting energized by the team spirit, about getting physically active and having fun in the parties.

Next to running the whole bunch of students is coming together at the big parties on Friday and Saturday night. Our swimmers team was enjoying a party in the library of the University of Twente. Who wouldn’t like to party where otherwise students have to study hard? 😉

Finally, team Aquimaniacs got rank 254. We were a cooperative team and Aquifer gave all in this crazy race!
