Competitions

S.Z.V. Aquifer proudly competes in the Dutch Student Swimming Competition (NSZK), the national league for student swimming associations in the Netherlands. Each academic year, we travel to four competitions, each hosted by a different student city. At these meets, we compete against 11 other student swimming associations to earn points for the overall NSZK standings and ultimately battle for the coveted championship title.

Of course, the NSZK is about much more than racing. After every competition, the host association organizes a themed social event where swimmers from all over the country come together. These legendary parties are an essential part of the student swimming experience, and we always aim to secure first place in the famous integration bingo ranking by meeting and socializing with as many swimmers from other associations as possible.

Once a year, the Dutch Student Swimming Championships (ONKS) take place. This prestigious championship is hosted by a different student city every year and attracts student swimmers from across the country. It offers the opportunity to compete for national student titles, achieve personal bests, and experience one of the highlights of the student swimming calendar. As with the NSZK competitions, the championships conclude with a festive party to celebrate an exciting weekend of racing.

Besides these annual events, Aquifer members can also take part in a variety of other competitions and swimming events. These include open water races, the Dutch Masters Swimming Championships (ONMK) for eligible swimmers, and recreational swimming marathons. Whether your goal is to race at a high level, challenge yourself in new disciplines, or simply enjoy swimming together with fellow students, there are plenty of opportunities for swimmers of all levels to get involved throughout the year.
